Why the Samarth Portal is Necessary for UG Admissions in Assam?

Centralized Application System: Previously, students had to apply separately to
each college, leading to redundancy and confusion. The Samarth portal allows
students to apply to multiple institutions—up to 10—through a single platform,
simplifying the process significantly.

Mandatory for Admission and Fee Waivers: The Assam government has made it
compulsory for students to apply through the Samarth portal to be eligible for
admission and to avail benefits like the fee waiver scheme. Admissions outside
this system are not recognized for government-supported programs.

Transparency and Merit-Based Selection: The portal ensures a transparent
admission process by publishing merit lists and tracking applications in
real-time. This system minimizes biases and ensures that admissions are based
on merit.

Efficient Student Lifecycle Management: Each student receives a unique Samarth
Enrollment Number upon admission, which is used to monitor their academic
journey, including examinations and results, across affiliated
institutions.

Compliance with NEP 2020: The portal supports the implementation of the NEP
2020 by facilitating admissions into four-year UG programs and integrated
master's courses, promoting a standardized and modernized higher education
framework.
How to Apply?
1. First of students must qualify HS examination to enroll UG courses and Three Years Degree courses as on 2025 to enroll PG courses.

Students needs to register his/her name only through government Samarth portal
and must ensure before registration whether it is original or fake?

After ensuring the website URL students must follow the following instructions-
a. Name and other details entered by the applicant need to
be the same as in the Class X Board Marksheet
b. Applicant can log in to the admission portal through
their registered email address, only.
c. Applicant must use his own active email
address.
d. The Email address provided by the applicant must be
functional and the applicant must have access to it throughout the admission
process.
e. Applicants are encouraged to use latest version of Google
Chrome web browser for filling the application form.
